Things To Do Around Ruidoso

Flying J Ranch - Chuck wagon suppers and a western stage show.  Truly fun for the entire family.

Casino Apache and Inn of the Mountain Gods - Resort Hotel and Casino with its own lake and top rated golf course.  Casino offers Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud and thousands of slot machines including MegaBucks and QuarterMania.

Casino Apache Travel Center - Ruidoso's newest casino offering blackjack, roulette, slot machines, convenience store, smoke shop, fuel and restaurant.

Ski Apache - Snowskiing and Snowboarding from Thanksgiving through Easter (weather permitting).

Golfing - Five (soon to be 7) championship golf courses open year round (weather permitting)

Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Billy the Kid Casino - Horse racing from May through Labor Day.  Casino has 300 machines (no table games).

Hubbard Museum of The American West (formerly Museum of The Horse) - Most comprehensive museum of its kind in the world!  Also check out the "Free Spirits at Noisy Water" outdoor monument at the Museum entrance.

Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts - Top name performers and touring companies from around the world can be seen here. It's Big City caliber entertainment tucked away in a mountain paradise.

Billy the Kid Scenic Byways - Explore the scenic drive to many area attractions.

Bonito Lake - North of Ruidoso, great site for fishing and camping.

Lincoln National Forest - surrounds Ruidoso and encompasses over 1 million acres.

Old Lincoln Historical District - Most of the town is still just as it was in the days when Billy the Kid and the Regulators fought in the Lincoln County War.

Rio Ruidoso - (Translation "Noisy water") The River that gave Ruidoso it's name runs right through the heart of Ruidoso.  In addition to great trout fishing, it offers a peaceful tranquility that is hard to find in this modern world.

Shopping - Ruidoso is renowned for it's specialty shops, both wholesale and retail. If its unique, but can't be found here, it probably isn't made.

This is the short list of things to do and see in Ruidoso. To truly understand and appreciate Ruidoso, you have to experience it firsthand. So just take some time and drive or walk around town and see the sights.
