Ruidoso is cool in so many ways! Located in the Southern Rocky Mountains with Sierra Blanca towering above the village, we are seasoned just right for year round enjoyment. Our winters are mild and our summer afternoon rains cool off the long summer days. Ruidoso's calm springs and colorful falls are heaven in between. On many days during the ski season you can ski in the morning up on the mountain and play a round of golf in town in the afternoon. Ruidoso offers so many activities and events, you need four seasons to enjoy them all. |

Billy The Kid National Byway:
New Mexico's
Billy the Kid Trail received a Scenic Historic Byway designation from the
Federal Highway Commission in June of 1995. In June of 1998 the
designation was upgraded to a National Scenic Byways. The Lincoln County area is rich in history. It has been home to Billy the Kid, the Lincoln County War, the Mescalero Apache tribe, Kit Carson, "Black Jack" Pershing, the Buffalo Soldiers, the world's richest Quarter Horse race and Smokey Bear.
