Chamber Music Festival in Ruidoso

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2007 Chamber Music Festival a success!  The August Chamber Music event is now four years old and has grown, becoming more significant, each of those four years and 2008 promises to be even more
fabulous!

2008 program !
The 2008 Chamber Music Festival takes place August 1, 2 and 3. This year’s world-renowned performers are Russian pianist Alexander Kobrin, the Miro Quartet and the Amelia Piano Trio.
We’ve also added a youth and family concert, "A Hair Affair," performed by the Amelia Piano Trio. This humorous introduction to classic music highlights famous composers and their notoriously "bad hair day" hairstyles.  Other CMF events include wine tastings, a free pre-concert talk at the Ruidoso Public Library, post-performance receptions, an art show in the theater lobby and our annual fund raising party--the Fabulous Festival Fling.  You can read more information by clicking on the "Chamber Music Artist Information" link above.

What Else do we do ?
The Chamber Music Festival, Inc. was incorporated to promote classical style chamber music for the Ruidoso, New Mexico region.  And, because we value music education, we also sponsor programs that bring music clinics to our local schools

by offering clinics for music students, as well as Music Enrichment to student bodies as a whole.  In addition to the usual auditorium venues, we also have some of the evening events at local galleries, churches, libraries, etc., and we will encourage entire families to attend.  To obtain information about this past winter's activities CLICK HERE.   As a new winter 2008/2009 schedule is developed, you can stay tuned to this web site.

              The Fabulous Festival Fling !!
Socialize with your fellow classical music fans (and perhaps a musician or two!) at the Fabulous Festival Fling, July 31 at 7 p.m.
This year’s party will be at the Swiss Chalet Inn, 1451 Mechem Dr., four (4) miles north of Ruidoso on Highway 48 (Mechem Dr.).  Hennington’s Bar & Grille will provide the hors d’oeuvres, with microbrewed beers and specialty sodas from Sierra Blanca Brewery, pistachios from the Heart of the Desert and gourmet pickled quail eggs from Quail Valley Farms. Popular local pianist Doug Fuqua will play, and the view of Sierra Blanca from the party room is spectacular! Tickets for this fund-raising event are only $25.
Get your Festival off to a fabulous start with the Fabulous Festival Fling! Call 575-378-4302 or 866-375-7370, or copy and mail the handy order form. Don’t forget to order your concert tickets!

AND THIS !
During the 2007 Chamber Music Festival events some of the following
activities added to the music:

Two wines were created by Scott Willmon of Willmon Vineyards. "Trio," a white wine blend, and "Ensemble," a Cabernet blend are still available at the End of the Vine and Viva New Mexico in Ruidoso, or by calling 505-630-9463.

There was an abundance of fabulous art and jewelry at the art show in the lobby of the theater. Thanks to everyone who purchased art from our hard-working artists!

There was also an abundance of good food and high spirits at the post-performance receptions, catered by the Cornerstone Bakery Café, the Hummingbird Tearoom, Schlotzky’s and the Village Buttery.

And there was an abundance of advertisers in our program–the largest ever! Again, our thanks to you.
