"Another wonderful series worth driving hundreds of miles to attend" -- Fort Collins, CO |
The Amelia Piano
Trio has established a glowing international reputation. They were Grand
Prize Winner at
the Yellow Springs National Competition and winner of
the ASACP award for Adventurous Programming. In
2003 they were asked to be
the Young Ensemble-in-Residence at National Public Radio,
reaching an estimated
1.5
million listeners. In 2006 they were featured on Chicago's WFMT live broadcast of the
complete Beethoven
Trios.
Having performed extensively abroad and in North America, the Trio members have participated in Yo Yo
Ma's
Silk Road Project. They are actively involved in arts education and
coaching
master classes for children and adults.
Performers are: Anthea Kreston - Violin, Raeko Aizawa - Piano,
and Jason Duckles - Cello

“...The three musicians
seemed in total accord as to interpretation, and their pleasure in working with
each other
was
patent. The technical proficiency, the exquisite focus of the string sound, the
breadth, nobility, and delicacy
of the pianist's contribution, the grace and intensity of the singing lines, the emotional
intensity and truth of all the
playing (yet without any
breach of decorum or style) – you just don’t hear better chamber music playing
than this.”
